We are delighted to welcome Professor James Wakeling for this free webinar Decoding the physiological signatures in EMG signals which is in partnership with BASES. This presentation will consider how to use wavelet analysis and principal component techniques to decode this information from the EMG. EMG-derived patterns of recruitment and coordination will be discussed and implications for new muscle models will be considered as will the physiological signatures in EMG signals. 

Professor Wakeling has 25 years of experience studying high-performance function in muscles from both animal and human systems.

He’s currently lead a research laboratory in Simon Fraser University, Canada that develops novel approaches to EMG signal decomposition, image analysis techniques for diagnostic ultrasound and physiologically-realistic muscle models for musculoskeletal simulations.
